New Week Blahs

Well, at least yesterday was good, right?

The stock market went up by 2,000 points. The Congress seemed to agree on–depending how you count it–a SIX TRILLION DOLLAR (!) bailout package, that represents a quarter of the US annual GDP. This comprises:

  • 2 Trillion in relief for businesses and regular Folksy
  • 4 Trillion in authority for the Fed to buy….stuff. REITs, ETF, Bonds, etc.

Today has been less rosy.

Last night, I was up with grace in immense pain until 11 or so, then I just collapsed in my bed. I finally got to work by 9am…only to find that I had a mandatory 45-minute Mac OS Catalina upgrade (10.15.4, if you’r scoring at home) to do.

From then until lunch, I banged my head on AWS/CDK. Just because I work for the darned company that makes both of those, doesn’t mean I get any special treatment. Nope. Actually, it’s frustrating because I have to map from our old system into the new AWS system. It’s a franeknstein, and it makes me feel like I’m 20 years old again. Not in a good way. In that “I’m a fake and I can’t make this work” kind of way.

Lunch I discussed with my wife that our fridge may be ready to go out, just in time for us to have zero access to a grocery store. Not good.

They declared a shelter-in-place for Williamson County Texas yesterday. Taking a brief drive at noon, it appears traffic is worse. (::groan::)

Just kind of exhausted, and in lots of back pain today. My new ergonomic chair can’t get here soon enough.
